Rachel and her pottery

Rachel Lavender is a Warwickshire based potter known for her simple lines and soft, natural colours.

Her work has been used to stage properties in Mayfair, has appeared in both House and Garden magazine and Warwickshire Life magazine. Rachel's potters mark is listed in the new edition of British Studio Potters' Marks, the classic go-to book for auction houses and collectors of British studio pottery.

Rachel's pottery is both functional and decorative and, as each piece is thrown and glazed by hand, every item is unique. Amongst other things, Rachel particularly enjoys throwing vases, bottles, large fruit bowls and jugs.

Rachel first tried ceramics in the early 90's and has been captivated by the potter's wheel ever since. Her pottery is made exclusively from stoneware clays which are fired very slowly to 1240 degrees centigrade. She works from her ceramic studio at home in Wellesbourne.
